Biodiesel
Process Concepts offers a complete turn-key approach for new biodiesel plant construction, along with completing modifications and expansions of existing plants. We will completely design/build plants from 5mm/gpy to 20mm/gpy with or without feed-stock pretreatment (esterification) and/or biodiesel distillation.
We have completed four complete biodiesel facilities in the past two years. We pride ourselves in matching the best technology and design for your application. Some of the add-on or retrofit units we provide or:
- Esterification Units – these allow you to process feed-stocks with higher FFA levels. Our basic unit allows the use of up to 15% FFA.
- Methanol Recovery Systems – this is designed as a vertical modular unit. This will remove all methanol from the biodiesel stream to below 1% and return it to your fresh methanol storage tank.
- Glycerin Processing Column – this is also a modular design. It is a two column design that removes all traces of glycerin and other impurities from the biodiesel stream.
- Biodiesel Distillation Column – with the addition of this unit your final product can be distilled to a virtual clear liquid. This process will remove all the sterol glycosides. These are the elements that begin to gel around 48 degrees f. This will enable the fuel to meet the highest cold soak test regardless of the feed-stock used.
